ASIAN CHICKEN LETTUCE WRAPS
I love an honest lettuce wrap recipe! They’re so healthy but also extremely satisfying if they’re done right. Robbie and that i wont to make them a minimum of twice every week . It’s definitely something i would like to urge back to making more. you'll alternate between Asian flavor, taco style, burgers, or salad . the choices are really endless!
I wanted to use ground chicken for this recipe because that’s what PF Chang’s/many Asian restaurants use for lettuce wraps. However, I personally just loved the way the bite size pigeon breast version photographed. Both ways are delicious, I’ll leave the choices open for you to settle on from.
For the sauce you'll need
Hoisin sauce – you'll find this in most grocery stores. However, my favorite story (Trader Joe’s) doesn’t carry it. At least, my store doesn’t have it. i buy mine at HEB or Whole Foods. i really like it because it’s far more thick than soy or coconut aminos. It’s also a touch more sweet and generally has more flavor thereto .
Rice vinegar – you'll find this in any store! i exploit the unseasoned.
Sriracha – you'll leave this out if you don’t sort of a little spice. If you wish spicy, add add extra 😉 That’s what I do!
Chinese 5 spice seasoning – you'll find this either within the Asian food aisle or seasoning aisle at the grocery . i buy mine at HEB or Whole Foods!
Ground mustard – find it within the seasoning aisle! I also love tossing my fries during this before I air fry them.
Other ingredients you'll need are some vegetable oil (I use olive oil), garlic, ginger, water chestnuts and in fact the chicken. Sliced scallion and sesame seeds make great toppings but aren’t necessary!
