BEST GRILLED CHEESE ROLL UPS
Guys, it’s finally here – it’s National Grilled Cheese Month!
Yes, it’s the simplest month of the year. And to celebrate, I share with you my absolute favorite and easiest grilled cheese recipe of all time.
It’s grilled cheese literally rolled up with good quality American cheese slices, cooked in melted butter until you get that lovely golden brown crust. From there, these work because the perfect dunkers into your tomato soup.
You know alright you can’t have any quite grilled cheese without a piping hot bowl of tomato soup, right?

INGREDIENTS:
prep time : 10 MINUTES
cook time : 10 MINUTES
total time : 20 MINUTES

- 8 slices white bread*, crusts trimmed
- 8 slices Wisconsin cheddar cheese*
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
DIRECTIONS:
- 1. employing a kitchen utensil , flatten bread squares to 1/4-inch thickness.
- 2. Place cheese slice on top of every slice of bread, rolling up tightly.
- 3. Melt 2 tablespoons butter during a large skillet over medium high heat. Working in batches, add roll ups to the skillet, cooking until all sides are golden brown and therefore the cheese has melted, about 3-4 minutes, adding more butter as required .
- 4. Serve immediately.
NOTES:
*Whole wheat or whole grain bread are often substituted.
*Different sorts of cheeses of your choice also can be used here (ex. Monterey Jack, pepper jack, Swiss, provolone, mozzarella, etc.).
